Arja is an experienced music pedagogue whose teaching locations include University of the Arts, Metropolia university of applied sciences,

Etos and internet music school Rockway.

 

She has expertise in Latin American, especially Cuban music, rhythmics and popular music. She´s also into African and Irish music and body percussion.

 

Arja gives inspiring courses and workshops for different levels from beginner to professional. 

 

At the moment her passion as a pedagogue is to bring home to Finland some influences from her six month long stay in Aarhus, Denmark, where she has studied SDS (sang,dans,og spil), which is a method of learning rhythm, world music and musical communication in a wholistic, bodily way.

 

Her teaching is also inspired by her studies at GLOMAS (Nordic master of global music), a multicultural collaboration program between

Sibelius-Academy,Helsinki and

Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus
